Student Club Feedback:

Student J.R., Hospitality Club President- Gr. 11

I had a great time visiting several of the hotels and other industry location that our club has exposed us to. The Ala Moana Hotel was beautiful and the Starbucks was a great touch to the overall environment. The hospitality industry in Hawaii is unique and I was amazed to see the “Aloha Spirit” throughout our visits.  I learned that the aloha spirit is very necessary when working in the hospitality and tourism industry which is leading Hawaii’s financial economy. Our advisors really helped me to appreciate the industry. Overall, I appreciated learning and gaining insights into how the industry operates and how important my studies can develop into good work ethics.

Student M.M., Hospitality Club, Vice President-Gr. 10

This is an amazing club, not only for those that want to have a profession in hospitality, but also for those that want to learn how to be more professional.  Our club visits many wonderful locations, and we all get to experience new things. Please understand that this club will help Hawaii’s Hospitality and Tourism Industry.  I recommend this club to Waianae High School students, and I wish to see this club expand from years to come.

Student E.M., Gr. 11

The field trip locations were good.  It was places that I’ve never gone to.  The Four Seasons field trip was visibly pleasing and the Presidential rooms were very nice rooms. The people at the Ala Moana Hotel were very knowledgeable and hospitable. The Ala Moana hosts were very generous in feeding all of the people on the field trip.  I’m looking forward to next years experience with the Hospitality Club.

Student L.S., Gr. 12

I liked meeting after school especially with the other members and advisors because they are funny and I liked how we discussed where we wanted to visit to learn more about Hospitality.  It was so cool how we met other students from other schools at the LEI convention. I also enjoyed the people who were talking to us at the Ala Moana Hotel and Limon field trips, they were so confident.  I also enjoyed interviewing the general managers. I learned that I am able to succeed in advancing to a higher working position by starting from the bottom. I learned about leadership and teamwork. The places we visited were so clean.  I liked doing the Hospitality Scavenger Hunts and taking pictures of the employees, logos, signs, buildings, and plants. I liked how all the teachers set up the events for us. I enjoyed the Hospitality Club. I am looking forward to working at a place like the places that I have visited on the field trips.
